Our client in the technology industry is seeking a Windows System Administrator to join their team. As a Windows System Administrator, you will be part of the IT department supporting various teams. The ideal candidate will have strong Windows OS knowledge, hands-on debug experience, and AI knowledge (beneficial, but not mandatory ; strong Windows OS and debug experience) which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Windows System Administrator

Location: Austin, TX

What's the Job?

  • Install device images on all self-host devices (10-150 units).
  • Communicate/interface with the Windows OS team and identify and retrieve the early builds of Windows OS as a base.
  • Communicate with platform software leads and identify collection of drivers, BIOS and applications that need to be added to device image.
  • Use tools like DISM and WinPE to create and manipulate custom OS images.
  • Understand how to manage and extract the Windows Driver Store to migrate and install drivers.
  • Generate basic scripts in PowerShell.
  • Understand diskpart and storage device provisioning.
  • Download and run Microsoft ADK for testing.
  • Run ad hoc testing to reproduce failure scenarios.
  • Prep devices for demos (special HW configurations, SW and test loads).
  • Campus troubleshooting, delivering and replacing test devices.
  • Assemble computers, power supplies, memory, processors and other components and get device running.
  • Learn/know how to use dediprog to flash SPI components.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering would be a nice to have but not a must have.
  • Hands-on experience in DISM, WinPE, scripting, creating OS images.  Working in the lab environment setting up the laptops, systems with/without chassis, Bios/FW/driver updates, running test plan (video/audio/network/USB) and issue troubleshooting.
  • Strong Windows OS knowledge and hands-on debug experience.
  • AI knowledge
