Job Summary:

The Emergency Response Agent, assigned to one of Pinkerton's largest global clients, will provide for the welfare, physical protection, and security of the client's property, reputation, and personnel while performing armed campus assignments.

Essential Functions:
  1. Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  2. Provide armed protection and other security-related functions for the client's campus assignments.
  3. Identify suspicious activity and potential “bad actors” and determine appropriate course of action.
  4. Deter criminal activity and mitigate liability.
  5. Conduct basic physical security risk assessment of campus weekly and document key findings.
  6. Respond to critical situations, fire, and emergencies while providing medical support, as necessary.
  7. Liaise and coordinate with first responders to ensure thorough transfer of situational information.
  8. Deescalate tense situations or individuals that may include armed threats and/or assaults that arise at the client's campuses.
  9. Participate in crisis planning and recommend solutions.
  10. Complete reporting for daily operations, suspicious activity, incident, shift logs, pattern of life reports, and/or medical treatment.
  11. Operate and maintain protective, operations, and communications equipment and promptly identify and escalate deficiencies/failures.
  12. Communicate regularly with security program stakeholders.
  13. All other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree with at least ten years of armed campus protection and/or law enforcement experience. Valid California CCW, Guard Card, Exposed Firearms license, and completion of state-approved course and certification for chemical agent/OC/pepper spray are required.   1. Tactical medicine training, preferred.
  2. CPR/First Aid certification.
  3. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Able to apply independent judgment appropriately during adverse and/or stressful situations.
  5. Able to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  6. Professional appearance and demeanor.
  7. Concierge-level customer service skills.
  8. Computer knowledge; Microsoft Office.

  6. On occasion, may be required to perform stressful and physical activity.
  7. Travel, as required.
