Our client is a leading international manufacturer of highly engineered precision bearings, components and essential systems for the industrial, defense and aerospace industries. Founded in 1919, the Company is primarily focused on producing highly technical and/or regulated bearing products and components requiring sophisticated design, testing and manufacturing capabilities for the diversified industrial, aerospace and defense markets. We currently have 52 facilities, of which 37 are manufacturing facilities in ten countries and our market capitalization is approximately $6.6 billion.

JOB TITLE/LOCATION:

Tax Manager - Oxford, CT

DESCRIPTION:

This position reports to our Tax Director and is responsible for the Company's tax compliance, tax planning and accounting for income taxes. The successful candidate will work with management, businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Responsible for completion of federal, international and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support
  • Responsible for use and property tax functions.
  • Responsible for audits of federal and state income tax and state and local filings.
  • Responsible for accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) in the US and International subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for transfer pricing and management fee arrangements.
  • Collaborate with international subsidiaries on global tax compliance processes
  • Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues.
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes.
  • Departmental liaison with IT staff on all technical matters relating to tax applications.
  • Assisting the executive management team with corporate tax planning issues as required.
  • Assist the Corporate Controller in estimating and monitoring annual cash taxes.
  • Assist with global M&A activities (structuring, diligence, etc.)

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Accounting. Master's Degree in Business Taxation preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of related experience with a preference for both industry and public accounting experience.
  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment
