ChristianaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology at Elkton is looking for a Medical Assistant.

ChristianaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology at Elkton is located at 137 West High Street, Suite 3B in Elkton, Maryland. ChristianaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology at Elkton provides specialized care before, during and after pregnancy. Our physicians also treat a range of conditions affecting women's reproductive system and overall health, such as breast and cervical cancers, anemia, depression, hormone imbalance, incontinence, osteoporosis, ovarian cysts/cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, and urinary tract infections. See an average of 40 to 70 patients daily.

You will join a fantastic team of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, licensed practical nurse, and medical assistants.

Work Schedule:

* Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.


Duties / Responsibilities:
As a medical assistant you will be involved with greeting and supporting patients both virtually and on-site within the practice, preparing them for virtual visits, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs, assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures, preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, completing patient-specific paperwork, ensuring EMR is up-to-date, handling patient call backs, sterilizing medical equipment, handling prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills, scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries, performing quality control on POCT equipment, providing documentation assistance, performing clerical duties, troubleshooting patient issues with video visits, and supporting patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal.

Education Requirements:

* High School Graduate or GED required.
* A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
