CORPORATE LEAVE SPECIALIST II - BENEFITS

Location(s): Can be located at any of Carpenter Technology Corporation's sites.

THE CORPORATE LEAVE SPECIALIST II - BENEFITS WILL:

  • Preserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and follow all HIPAA/PHI guidelines.
  • Under general supervision, administer Active Employee leave programs.
  • Interpret and administer leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
  • Provide various forms of assistance directly to employees in understanding and utilizing assigned benefit programs and return work procedures.
  • Provide extensive case management and coordinate administrative aspects of the cases and claims.
  • Work with HRBPs, managers, and supervisors regarding any employee leave issues, including analyzing results.
  • Prepare the weekly short-term disability earning file and monitor short-term disability payments.
  • Create and maintain process management in assigned areas.
  • Assist in the maintenance of leave-related data in HRIS.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Recommend plan design and process improvement to manager.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CORPORATE LEAVE SPECIALIST II - BENEFITS:

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • One or more years of leave administration experience (preferred) or 1.5+ years' experience in a rules-driven, data analytics environment. Workday experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written. Ability to formulate concise presentations which effectively address key areas of focus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-learner/self-motivator.
  • Ability to describe complex information in layman's terms to communicate with employees and vendors regarding company policy, benefits programs, and resolution of claim issues. Must have the ability to reason with others. Interactions require understanding, influencing, and supporting people through applying product knowledge and rational arguments aimed at causing action or acceptance by others.
  • Primary active employee customer service contact.
  • Directly responsible for ensuring eligibility data and transmission to vendor for active population.
  • Directly responsible for preparing earnings files for Short-term Disability pay process.
  • Directly responsible for completing unemployment claims responses on behalf of Carpenter.
