About the Company: We are an ASME-certified organization specializing in fabricating critical infrastructure for the Nuclear Power industry. As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will oversee the quality of products and services to ensure compliance with ASME Code and Owner Design Specifications. Your role will involve coordinating efforts to meet these quality standards and managing the performance of our quality management systems. You will collaborate with suppliers, employees, customers, and third-party auditors to maintain high-quality standards throughout the fabrication process.
About the Role: Ensure all fabrications meet ASME Code and Owner Design Specifications. Maintain and manage the Nuclear NQA-1 Quality Management System, including audit preparation. Ensure ongoing compliance with the latest ASME Code releases each year. Conduct 10-CFR-Part 21 evaluations and report findings to the NRC and owners. Oversee the training and indoctrination of Nuclear Department personnel and support staff involved in fabrication. Address Non-Conformances, perform Root Cause Analysis, and ensure corrective actions are taken. Approve all quality-related documents and procedures, including purchase orders for fabrication materials. Ensure compliance with Commercial Grade Item Dedication for materials used in basic components. Maintain calibration and functionality of Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE). Supervise the Quality Department, including Quality Assurance and Advanced Quality Planning teams, to ensure efficient resolution of quality issues. Collaborate with management, production supervisors, and staff to set production and quality control standards. Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and escalate issues to senior management as needed. Prepare quality reports (e.g., ppm, COQ) by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing performance data. Act as the primary liaison with customers to resolve quality issues and maintain positive relations. Support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Shipping departments in quality auditing, fixture control, and process improvement. Analyze operational reports to identify and address nonconformities and production challenges. Manage customer complaints, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken. Represent the customer’s perspective in quality matters, setting objectives and managing training and improvement initiatives. Collaborate across functions (materials management, warranty, sales) to achieve operational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience with the NQA-1 Nuclear Quality Program, ASME Code, CFR, and industry standards such as EPRI.
- Proven success in leading teams to meet quality and compliance objectives.
- Expertise in industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, NQA-1) and related certification processes.
- Strong knowledge of problem-solving methods, including 5-Why, Ishikawa, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Design of Experiments.
- Experience with gauging, testing methods, and quality measurement tools.
- Established history of managing external customer and supplier relationships.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage workflows and meet deadlines.
- Global business acumen and ability to align cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. 8-10 years of progressive experience in Quality or related fields, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Microsoft Suite, and general PC skills.
