Job Summary and QualificationsOur Registered Nurses raise the bar by providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. Our Inpatient Rehabilitation RNs provide continuing, skilled care for adult patients while they recover their strength and functioning after debilitating injury, stroke, trauma, amputation, neurological disorders, orthopedic intervention and surgical procedures. Teamwork is the key on our floor as we interact with our Physicians, Therapists and Social Workers. From treatment to patient and family education, our rehabilitation specialists customize a plan of care based on each individual’s diagnosis, needs and personal goals. What You Will Do In This Role:
- You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient / family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols.
- You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
- You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient / family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- ADN required; BSN preferred and required w/12-month enrollment/24-month completion
- Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Minimum one year of hospital Medical Surgical nursing experience required
- Inpatient Rehab and longer stay Med Surg experience is also acceptable
- Advanced Certification in Inpatient Rehab Nursing CRRN preferred
