R3 Wound Care Hyperbarics (R3) is an innovative, alternative, and patient-centric provider of healthcare services across the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex, Houston, and San Antonio. We are entering an exciting phase as a company, with a strategic focus on enhancing the current clinical delivery model and platform, and then leveraging that platform to grow the business and the footprint of our clinics. Our culture at R3 is predicated on each one of our employees’ willingness to pitch in, wherever necessary, to ensure our patients are served at the highest quality levels of care and comfort.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead our wound care outpatient healthcare clinic. As the CMO, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of clinical care, medical staff, and patient care services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Management: The CMO will be responsible for the overall clinical management of R3's wound care/hyperbaric outpatient healthcare clinics. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Medical Staff Oversight: The CMO will provide leadership, education, and direction to the medical staff, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for recruitment, retention, and development of a highly qualified and motivated clinical team.
  • Patient Care Services: The CMO will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic wounds. You will work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with Providers and Authorization Teams:
    • Triage and Expedite Treatments: Work closely with healthcare providers and the authorization team to prioritize and accelerate hyperbaric treatments and skin substitute applications, ensuring timely patient care.
    • Insurance Appeals: Take an active role in the appeals process with insurance companies, advocating for patients by providing robust clinical evidence and documentation.
    • Clinical Support: Deliver strong, evidence-based clinical support to justify and optimize patient procedures and treatments.
  • Champion Clinical Excellence:
    • Clinical Education: Lead the development and delivery of clinical education programs for providers and staff, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
    • Regulatory and Clinical Updates: Stay current with regulatory changes and clinical advancements, and proactively share this knowledge with the team to enhance overall practice performance.
    • Safety and Compliance: Collaborate with Safety Directors and the Compliance Team to maintain a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Quality Improvement: The CMO will lead efforts to continuously improve the quality of care provided to patients. You will oversee the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and monitor clinical outcomes to ensure that the clinic is meeting or exceeding established benchmarks.
  • Strategic Planning: The CMO will participate in the development and implementation of the clinic’s strategic plan. You will work closely with the leadership team to identify opportunities for growth and development and develop plans to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Business Development: The CMO will drive growth and business development initiatives, including identifying new service lines and partnerships, developing marketing strategies, and establishing relationships with key stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Medical Degree: The CMO must be a licensed physician (MD/DO) with a medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Unrestricted license in the state of Texas and willingness to obtain licensure in additional states.
  • Ability to provide supervision of Advanced Practitioners at R3 clinics.
  • Board Certification: The CMO must be board-certified in a relevant specialty such as FP, IM, EM, surgery, or dermatology.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a CWS and ABPM/hyperbaric medicine certification.
  • Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical management and wound care.
  • Leadership Skills: The CMO must have strong leadership skills and be able to effectively manage a team of healthcare professionals. Ideal candidates will have prior director, administrative or practice ownership experience.
  • Communication Skills: The CMO must have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.

If you are a dynamic leader with a passion for wound care/hyperbaric medicine, a commitment to providing high-quality patient care, and a strong business acumen, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
