CoCounsel, part of Thomson Reuters, is seeking a Senior Attorney Product Specialist to join our Trust & Reliability Team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of legal practice by working at the forefront of AI and legal technology. As part of the Product Management Organization, you will play a crucial role in upholding the reliability and value of CoCounsel, the world's first AI legal assistant. Your contributions will directly impact CoCounsel's mission to deliver unparalleled value to top law firms and legal departments globally.

About You

In this opportunity as a Senior Attorney Product Specialist, you will:

  1. Work closely with internal and external teams to develop and execute product programs and initiatives supporting the latest artificial intelligence and legal technology solutions on the market.
  2. Develop, test, and validate the latest uses of generative artificial intelligence technology for use in the legal industry.
  3. Develop a deep understanding of our customers' pain points and goals to articulate clear and differentiated value propositions.
  4. Lead the development of advanced use cases for attorneys utilizing the CoCounsel platform, demonstrating thought leadership in the application of AI to legal practice.
  5. Utilize independent judgment to assess CoCounsel's ongoing performance, providing strategic feedback to our team of engineers and data scientists to drive continuous improvement.
  6. Take initiative in client engagements, providing expert assistance to Enterprise clients and contributing to the strategic direction of product development.
  7. Act as a mentor to junior team members, guiding them in the nuances of legal technology and prompt engineering.
  8. Identify innovative pathways for applying generative AI within legal practice.
  9. Carry out market research and analysis, collating both internal and external insight through qualitative and quantitative research, to help drive direction and priorities for our products.
  10. Understand current product portfolio and positioning, buyer & user personas, competitive environment, and market opportunities.
  11. Deliver and support development of high-impact product marketing activities that drive and support product awareness, client usage and retention, market leadership, and enable new sales and up-selling/cross-selling across the legal technology portfolio.
  12. Gather info from appropriate business partners to create customer communications when necessary.
  13. Coordinate with other Thomson Reuters divisions and teams on select ad hoc projects.
About the Role

You're a fit for the role of Senior Attorney Product Specialist if your background includes:

  1. Juris Doctor and Bar Admission (any jurisdiction) required.
  2. Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
  3. Minimum of 1 year experience conducting LLM validations and evaluations.
  4. Proven expertise in prompt engineering, with a demonstrated ability to craft and refine effective prompts to enhance LLM evaluations.
  5. Computer proficient with strong understanding in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  6. Substantial experience using a variety of online legal research and practice tools (e.g. Westlaw, Practical Law, Lexis, Casetext, Relativity, Intelligize, Everlaw, etc.).
  7. Experience in the use of legal technology is required.
  8. Experience in the use of generative AI tools is a must.
  9. The ability to represent the customers' perspective and empathize with their needs; and strong commercial acumen with an ability to 'think like a customer'.
  10. Passion for legal research, writing, and analysis, with uncompromising attention to detail.
  11. Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency, and excellence in legal work.
