What you will be doing:
Join us as an Itinerant Public Health Nurse in the Juneau Public Health Clinic. This position can be hired at the 1, 2, or 3 level.

Public Health Nurse (PHN) 1: This is an entry-level role where you’ll start your journey in public health nursing. You’ll provide essential services to individuals, families, and communities, focusing on comprehensive care and system-based public health initiatives.

Public Health Nurse (PHN) 2: At this level, you’ll be fully skilled in all areas of public health nursing. You’ll work independently, offering a broad range of services in collaboration with individuals, communities, groups, organizations, and systems. This role is perfect for those ready to take on more responsibility and showcase their expertise.

Public Health Nurse (PHN) 3: In this advanced role, you’ll independently deliver a full spectrum of public health nursing services to villages and rural communities. You’ll use a holistic approach that includes individual, community, and systems-based care.

This position involves frequent travel within the state, approximately two trips per month, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is based in the Juneau Public Health Center, 3412 Glacier Highway. Juneau is a beautiful coastal community in Southeast Alaska and the capital of Alaska.

Special Notice:
This position requires frequent travel (1 to 2 times a month) to remote areas of Alaska via small aircraft and/or boat. A valid Driver's License and a valid Alaska Registered Nursing License are required at the time of appointment. CPR Certification will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Public Health Nurse 1:
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska;
AND
Current acceptance and enrollment in a Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science (RN-to-BSN) bridge program from an accredited college or university.

Public Health Nurse 2:
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska;
AND
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university.

Public Health Nurse 3:
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska;
AND
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university;
AND
Any combination of additional education, certification, and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in public health.

Additional Required Information:

A copy of your current Registered Nurse License (from any state)
Three (3) professional references with current contact information
A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial are okay, please ensure that the institution name/URL is listed on the transcripts).
