In this role, you will be at the heart of our patient care efforts, ensuring that each patient receives the highest level of service with precision, empathy, and respect.
Role OverviewAs the on-site Physician in a rural health center, you will have the unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of underserved individuals in our community. You will be the first point of contact for patients presenting with a wide range of undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions, using your expertise in gathering patient history, conducting physical examinations, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making to establish diagnoses and develop comprehensive management plans.
Your responsibilities will encompass the overall health and well-being of patients, including but not limited to providing continuous quality care, prescribing appropriate medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, referring patients to specialists when necessary, and delivering patient education. This position is critical in ensuring that patients experience seamless transitions throughout their healthcare journey, enhancing their overall experience at Harrington Family Health Center.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a high standard of patient care using advanced autonomous clinical skills in a small, community-focused health center.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other on-site providers, including Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers within HFHC and external specialists to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop new roles and adapt to advancements in the evolving healthcare landscape.
- Facilitate and participate in multidisciplinary education and clinical supervision to enhance provider knowledge and foster collaboration.
- Take a leadership role in organizational decision-making by interpreting clinical outcomes and utilizing data from information systems to improve practices.
- Engage in continuing professional development to maintain up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge and competence in all aspects of family medicine.
- Contribute thoughtful insights to the development and implementation of health center growth plans and strategic initiatives.
- Understand and implement fiscal decision-making, as well as operational policies and procedures.
- Support healthcare team members by accepting referrals and providing consultative expertise as needed.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
- Prior experience as a practicing MD or DO preferred, though newly graduated candidates are welcome to apply.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a primary care setting.
- Strong clinical judgment and reasoning skills, especially in complex and challenging situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with colleagues, patients, external agencies, and the community.
- Full Time
- Monday to Friday, with one administrative day.
