Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors.
- Record business transactions and key daily worksheets to the general ledger system.
- Responsible for balancing the revenue and expense transactions, which occurred during the day for the hotels.
- Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department.
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation issues and discrepancies.
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
- Balance, correct, and reconcile all department’s accounts and entities within specific procedural parameters to obtain net figures.
- Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, recording, mailing, and computer data input processing.
- Verifies credit cards, direct billing, and cash deposits are accurate and balance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Duties:
- Has thorough knowledge of all accounting policies and procedures.
- Attends meetings as required.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office conditions.
Work Hours:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet goals.
- Must be able to work weekends as required.
- Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Equipment Use:
- Proficient in the use of a computer and with the resort’s word, spreadsheet, and accounting related software.
- Ability to use telephone.
- Ability to use various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers and facsimile machines.
Mental and Physical Demands:
- Able to work under pressure with short deadlines.
- High degree of concentration, attention to detail needed for accurate data entry.
- Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.
- Flexibility to adapt to all situations.
- Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances throughout the facility.
- Ability to work in a confined space.
Communication Demands:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, department managers and guests.
- Ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
- High school diploma required.
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field or two years related work experience preferred.
