The Director of Human Resource position is responsible for the administration and operations of the human resource functions such as: benefits development/administration, orientation programs, payroll processes and integration, compensation review and performance management, legal compliance, policy/procedure development, employee relations, and recruitment and retention. The HR Director will lead a team of HR professionals and work closely with executives and other key managers of the organization. In addition, the position will support the HR staff and provide a broad range of HR consultation and services to the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Standing member of the Senior Leadership Team
  2. Chair of Human Resource Committee.
  3. Participate in the development of organizational strategic planning.
  4. Provide support and oversight to assigned HR team members: guide and coach on issues including but not limited to, payroll, benefits, on-boarding, training and development, recruitment, regulatory and compliance.
  5. Oversee and manage employee leaves including FMLA, Short Term Disability, Worker's Comp.
  6. Oversight of annual benefit renewals and enrollment process.
  7. Oversee and manage employee 403b retirement administration and reports.
  8. Foster an environment that engages all employees, respects diversity and is compliant with all applicable laws.
  9. Maintain presence in organization's locations by providing coaching, focusing on performance management, staff and leadership development.
  10. Participate in the implementation of training programs targeted for all employees on relevant professional development and industry topics and best practices.
  11. Maintain/update agency's Human Resources Policies & Procedures, ensuring they reflect company practices and standards.
  12. Resolve employee complaints, grievances and investigations to resolution.
  13. Manage the disciplinary action process, including warnings and terminations in conjunction with management staff.
  14. Participates with agency fund raising and employee engagement activities.
  15. Oversee the internship program for administration staff.
  16. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics: Knowledge Of:
  1. Understanding of federal and state labor regulations and laws.
  2. Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity requirements and procedures.
  3. General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability To:
  1. Supervise staff, develop job descriptions and provide performance evaluations and improvement plans.
  2. Analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
  3. Influence and make recommendations to all levels.
  4. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  5. Manage priorities effectively to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
  6. Assimilate new information and technology.
Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or related field.
  2. Eight (8) years of experience working progressively in Human Resources or related field.
  3. Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Other:
  1. Must be: ethical, self-motivated, dependable/reliable, and detailed oriented.
  2. Must be able to interface easily with staff, other senior management personnel and funding sources.
  3. Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20 pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
  4. Must possess a valid driver's license.
