We are on the lookout for a talented and committed Senior Chassis Engineer to join our team at Zero Labs Automotive. Based in Los Angeles, California, we are an automotive and industrial design, technology, and engineering firm. In this role, you will be responsible for the product design, reliability engineering, and project management of the suspension and steering systems, brakes, and other crucial components for our Premium Classic Electric Vehicles. Working closely with our electrical and mechanical engineers, we need someone with exceptional skills and leadership qualities to oversee the creation of cutting-edge, world-class electric vehicles.

Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop complete chassis systems, steering and braking systems for electric vehicles, including both on-road and off-road vehicles.
  2. Defining QA and production standards for long term vehicle performance.
  3. Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure optimal integration of the chassis into the vehicle's overall design.
  4. Review and approve all vehicle mechanical functional performance specifications.
  5. Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of individual suspension components and their assembly to ensure maximum performance for on-road and off-road driving.
  6. Perform calculations, FEA, and other simulation analysis work to validate strength, stiffness, and fatigue safety factors.
  7. Analyze test data to redesign and optimize chassis systems for optimal performance.
  8. Ensure the compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards.

Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in automotive engineering with a focus on chassis development.
  3. Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks or Catia.
  4. Experience in designing and developing chassis systems, steering systems, braking systems.
  5. Ability to understand suspension systems behavior and optimize for performance.
  6. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data for the purpose of assembling test reports.
  7. Experience with electric vehicles.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
