Job Summary

The VP, Restaurant Development is responsible for overseeing all aspects of development including real estate, construction, design and architecture. This leader will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that new locations align with brand standards, achieve financial targets, and support long-term growth strategies of Chili's and Maggiano's.

Your Key Job Functions
  1. Strategic Growth Planning: Clearly define our restaurant development strategy for site selection and optimization of legacy markets. Identify opportunities for expansion where applicable.
  2. Real Estate Development: Provide input and recommendations on site selection, lease negotiations, and property acquisitions.
  3. Construction and Project Management: Monitor construction progress, address any issues or delays, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. Lead reimage program for both brands.
  4. Cross-Functional Leadership: Closely partner with operations leaders to understand key priorities to build and maintain our restaurants. Own the vendor relationships and hold them accountable to provide adequate service to our restaurants.
  5. Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
What You Bring to the Team
  1. 10+ years of experience in development, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industries
  2. Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale developed projects in multi-unit development and market expansion
  3. In-depth knowledge of real estate acquisition, site selection, construction management, and strong financial acumen
  4. Proficient in project management software and tools
  5. Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and regulations
  6. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  7. Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  8. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
