Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety Manager to join our client at an industrial manufacturing facility in the Houston area. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong presence on the floor and a proven track record in driving plant safety improvements. You will be responsible for leading safety initiatives, auditing current safety programs, creating and enforcing policies, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the plant.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with company standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Serve as the sole safety leader for the plant, overseeing all aspects of workplace safety.
  • Drive safety turnarounds and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Be visible and accessible to both day and night shifts, particularly engaging with the night shift two days per week.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring all employees understand and follow safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with plant management to address and resolve safety concerns quickly and effectively.
  • Train and educate employees on best practices for workplace safety.
  • Lead incident investigations and track corrective actions.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to enforce policies and drive a safety-first mindset.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to be present on the plant floor and interact with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience leading safety turnarounds and implementing long-term safety improvements.
  • Ability to work the late shift (3 PM - 11 PM) and be visible to the night shift at least two days per week.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
