Essential Duties and Responsibilities for GM Service Technicians:

* Perform Maintenance & Repairs: Skillfully complete tasks listed on repair orders, always within our dealership's guidelines.
* Diagnose Issues: Use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and equipment to inspect, diagnose, and verify guest concerns for everything automotive, from air conditioning to engines.
* Prepare Estimates: Provide accurate time estimates for additional repairs required, maintaining transparency and building trust.
* Address Warranty Concerns: Carry out warranty repairs flawlessly, adhering to manufacturer specifications and ensuring every vehicle is in top-notch condition.
* Communicate Findings: Be the vital link between our clients and service advisors, ensuring timely and accurate vehicle status updates.

Experience and Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or ASE certification preferred.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in automotive repair and maintenance.

Technical Skills:

* Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
* Experience with using diagnostic tools, service equipment, and repair manuals.

Certifications:

* ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
* Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Knowledge:

* Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and HVAC systems.
* Familiarity with manufacturer-specific repair procedures and guidelines.

Physical Ability:

* Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts and standing for extended periods.
* Manual dexterity and the ability to use hand tools effectively.

Problem-Solving:

* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and accurately.

Attention to Detail:

* High precision and attention to detail in all repair and maintenance tasks.
* Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Communication Skills:

* Ability to communicate effectively with service advisors and guests.
* Proficient in documenting repair work and explaining technical issues to non-technical individuals.
