Director - Risk Data and Reporting , will support American Express’ Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework by assisting in the aggregation, validation, and analysis of risk data and contributing to the development of risk management reports. This role focuses on executing data-driven solutions to enhance risk reporting processes and align with regulatory expectations (e.g., OCC Heightened Standards, BCBS 239).

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the execution of the end-to-end process for identifying and generating risk reports, ensuring quality and integrity of the underlying data.
  • Oversee the delivery of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), metrics, and thresholds across all risk domains to ensure compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with risk domain leaders (credit, market, operational, etc.), and technology teams to implement data strategies and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of risk reports that align with the VP’s directives and organizational priorities.
  • Execute and maintain data governance practices to uphold the integrity and quality of risk data and reports.
  • Conduct process reviews and implement enhancements to streamline risk reporting operations, ensuring alignment with risk objectives.
  • Drive execution of initiatives to streamline data integration, reduce manual processes, and improve the scalability of risk reporting.
  • Maintain an inventory of risk reports and contribute to the development of a library of KPIs, KRIs, and Early Warning Indicators (EWIs) to support enterprise risk monitoring.
  • Provide support in analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights for risk reporting to meet diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Act as a key partner to the VP, Head of Risk Data and Reporting by coordinating across functions to ensure the seamless execution of risk reporting initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, finance, risk management, economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in data reporting or risk management in a Fortune 500 company within the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with financial products and regulatory requirements impacting risk reporting.
  • Experience with leading a team that executes against BCBS 239 requirements.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, or CRM) preferred.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits.
