Job Description

To ensure proper servicing of all Banquet Functions and assist in the operation and management of the Banquet Department; to disseminate information on event orders, to service and set-up personnel ensuring accurate, timely functions as well as professional and courteous service. Responsible for up-selling and attaining pre-determined labor goals, and supervision of all Food & Beverage related events on and off property.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for controlling all aspects in the execution of banquet function
  2. Effectively supervise the Banquet staff during all food and beverage service
  3. Coordinating every aspect of the Banquet staff during all food and beverage service
  4. Assist the Director of Food & Beverage in the complete operation of the Banquet Department to include schedules, event orders, resumes, banquet tickets, daily spreadsheets
  5. Banquet Managers should be able to open and close day-to-day operation
  6. Complete Banquet Employee reviews and attendance history
  7. Supervision of Banquet Captains, Servers and Housepersons in service, room set-ups, clean up and payroll administration
  8. Comply with staffing guides and punch detail reports
  9. Assist in keeping necessary inventories on equipment, food and beverage items
  10. Provide Director of Food & Beverage with day-to-day reports on groups and employees
  11. Being able to complete and understand all paperwork; Ace Forms, cash bar procedures, safety checklist report, etc.
  12. Responsible for adhering to hotel policies and procedures
  13. Must assist/conduct all designated staff/pre-function meetings
  14. Conduct monthly OST Meetings
  15. Maintain training sheets and disciplinary action

Qualifications

  1. Enforcement and adherence to all liquor laws
  2. Must become winequest certified
  3. Must have alcohol training certification (TABC) and food manager certification
  4. Maintain liquor as per par level, make requisitions daily for bottle to bottle exchange
  5. 2-3 years of previous high-volume banquet experience is required
  6. High School Degree or Equivalent; Some College Preferred
  7. Exceptional people skills preferred
  8. Must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform professionally under high levels of stress
  9. Computer skills required
  10. Flexibility in availability to include nights, weekends, and holidays
