Our client, a dynamic player in the procurement industry, is seeking a Buyer to join their team. As a Buyer, you will be part of the procurement department supporting various business lines. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Buyer I
Location: Baytown, TX
Pay Range: $40.70/hr
Duration: 12 months (potential to extend)

What's the Job?

  • Process a queue of requisitions and convert them to purchase orders on a daily basis.
  • Collect written proposals from vendors as needed.
  • Conduct simple negotiations of pricing and general terms & conditions.
  • Address invoice discrepancies from the purchase order or the goods receipt and approve invoice payment for any additional freight costs not accounted for on the purchase order.
  • Liaise with the strategic buyer regarding project or turnaround purchases and potential bundles.

What's Needed?

  • Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (PtP) processes.
  • Ability to utilize systems efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in contract development and management is a plus.
