Job Summary: The Director of Finance will provide critical financial insights and analysis to support decision-making across Caliber’s ~1,800 (and growing) repair locations. This role focuses on driving profitability, cost efficiency, and performance improvements across Caliber’s centers. The Director will collaborate with operations, functional leaders, and the executive team to ensure financial strategies align with business goals. In addition to providing support for operations, this role also involves offering financial oversight for procurement decisions to ensure cost-effective sourcing and efficient resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Decision Support and Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Lead the financial planning processes, including annual budgeting and variance analysis for Caliber’s collision centers.
    • Analyze key financial and operational metrics such as labor costs, parts margins, cycle times, customer satisfaction, etc.
    • Provide detailed performance analysis on center profitability and financial health, recommending corrective actions as needed.
    • Collaborate with operations to develop business strategies aimed at improving financial performance and maximizing operational efficiency.
  2. Financial Reporting and Data Analytics:
    • Oversee the preparation of financial reports and dashboards that provide visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Leverage data analytics to pre-emptively identify trends in financial and operational performance.
    • Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems and tools that provide real-time insights into center-level performance and overall financial health.
  3. Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and analysts, ensuring they are equipped to support operational leaders effectively.
    • Build strong working relationships with operations teams and functional leaders to ensure alignment between financial objectives and business strategies.
    • Foster a culture of financial accountability, transparency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  4. Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement in connect with central operations and field leaders.
    • Work closely with procurement to evaluate vendors, negotiating pricing, and identifying opportunities for bulk purchasing and strategic sourcing to reduce costs.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining operational processes and enhancing financial outcomes.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  2. Experience:
    • 8-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5+ years in a decision support or FP&A role.
    • Experience managing the finances of multi-location businesses, ideally in industries with high operational complexity.
    • Familiarity with procurement processes and cost control in operational settings is preferred but not mandatory.
