As a Vice President in the Special Credits Group, you will be the Risk Management- Special Credits Lead, playing a crucial role in managing a portfolio of stressed and distressed credits. Your focus will be on risk management and maximizing the recovery of JP Morgan's credit exposure through early intervention and financial restructuring of stressed/distressed borrowers.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist internal transaction teams on new originations and restructurings with material complex legal, financial, reputational, and jurisdictional issues and coordinate with payments and operations partners to mitigate potential payments or settlement risk.
  2. Collaborate with internal deal teams including Corporate/Financial Institutions Group/Emerging Markets Credit Risk Management, Coverage, Global Corporate Bank, Leveraged Finance, Payments, Legal, Compliance and Secondary Loan trading; reviewing complex legal, financial and jurisdictional issues with an objective of improving credit structures on transactions.
  3. Work with lenders, company management, financial advisors, and outside counsel on generating optimal solutions for the repayment of credit exposure and preserving important client relationships.
  4. Assist in the credit decision-making process in live stressed/distressed situations on an advisory/managed basis.
  5. Prepare quarterly Credit Surveillance, accounting and regulatory reporting on portfolio names.
  6. Develop exposure management and evaluate loan sale opportunities, preparing valuations on securities/other instruments received from previous restructurings and formulating trading and disposal strategies.
  7. Provide leadership on the wholesale regulatory, accounting and risk reporting agenda as well as other SCG-specific activities including crisis management and problem credit playbooks.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  1. Significant experience in Credit Risk management and/or Leveraged Finance experience.
  2. Relevant restructuring or leveraged finance structuring experience across multiple jurisdictions, as well as previous exposure to managing large lending syndicates or executing complex leveraged transactions.
  3. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Able to work well under pressure in a demanding environment.
