Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will provide advanced and extensive nuclear and radiological expertise supporting Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) threat analysis. The candidate may also develop or contribute to nuclear and radiological research and development efforts; perform modeling and simulation of capabilities or programs to detect or discover nuclear and radiological material; provide technical and technology advice for acquisition support of nuclear and radiological systems; perform or lead independent verification and validation, or related peer review, for nuclear and radiological dispersion software, programs, technologies and strategies.

The candidate's responsibilities may include:

  1. Researching and providing guidance on current and evolving nuclear and radiological technologies, methodologies, materials, and capabilities, particularly as to how they may be exploited by potential threat actors.
  2. Evaluating the feasibility of technical approaches to challenges.
  3. Identifying partner organizations and stakeholders in the nuclear and radiological arena for possible collaboration, and provide guidance or even lead outreach efforts for those entities.
  4. Reviewing nuclear and radiological related technical reports for critical review and to identify potential threat vectors.
  5. Developing and evaluating scientific capability strategies.
  6. Developing test and evaluation methodologies.
  7. Developing, monitoring, and maintaining a central repository of technical program information (e.g. reports, requirements, etc.).
  8. Organizing, coordinating, and participating in meetings, discussions, and seminars on nuclear and radiological threat and detection technology topics.
  9. Communicating scientific findings to technical and non-technical audiences as needed through written, oral, virtual and in-person settings.
  10. Providing nuclear and radiological familiarization training and education to laypersons to enhance organizational awareness.

You are responsible for managing multiple projects and directing the work, as a Sr. Scientist, of others while applying your expertise and experience. You serve as the primary contact for clients on assigned projects, leveraging knowledge of clients' operations and business. You regularly interact with mid-level client representatives and build strong collegial networks to improve quality, grow new business and shape new corporate objectives. You are able to manage uncertainty and risks in difficult situations, relationships and problems. You communicate, diagnose, and facilitate consensus in a variety of situations setting clear expectations for execution.

Required Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in a nuclear, radiological, or closely related scientific field.
  2. More than 10 years of experience in a scientific, engineering, medical, veterinary, or public health field.
  3. Excellent oral and technical writing communication skills and advanced organizational capabilities.
  4. Ability to work tasks autonomously and follow through to completion.
  5. Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to acquire Department of Homeland Security suitability (i.e., security screening).
Desired Qualifications
  1. PhD/Doctorate in nuclear physics or closely related scientific field.
  2. More than 10 years of experience in nuclear/radiological field.
  3. History of successfully managing complex technical projects and teams to achieve high client satisfaction.
  4. Experience successfully elevating the work of teammates.

Compensation

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $125,500.00 - USD $196,075.00 /Yr.
