York Hospital is currently seeking a licensed CT/Radiologic Technologist to join our Imaging Team.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of X-ray and CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  2. Position patients for X-ray and CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
  3. Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, when applicable.
  4. Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
  5. Evaluate X-rays and CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label.
  6. Assist with clerical functions.
  7. Charge procedures and supplies.
  8. Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
  9. Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration.
  10. Maintain accurate patient records.
  11. Perform a variety of tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated body portions. Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
  12. Explain X-ray and CT procedures to patients.
  13. Position patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
  14. Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures.
  15. Accurately process images for optimal quality. Match with appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
  16. Charge radiographic procedures; able to modify orders.
  17. Demonstrate acceptable film quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and collimation.
  18. Understand and use PACS systems.
  19. Demonstrate flexibility and proficiency to support system needs including but not limited to the OR, orthopedic office, fluoroscopy, as well as off-site x-ray needs.
  20. Perform other related duties incidental to the work.
Qualifications for this position:
  1. Associates Degree or Certificate from two-year college, university, or certificate-based program.
  2. ARRT registered or registry eligible, state of Maine license.
  3. BLS certification obtained within four months of hire and maintained thereafter.
  4. Obtain CT license within one year of hire.
