Purpose of Role
We're on the search for our newest Plant Buyer As a Plant Buyer, you will be responsible for the purchasing and inventory management goals of predetermined product lines within an ERP environment. Demonstrates a solid understanding of key business areas affecting the supply chain and has an understanding of how their work impacts cross-functional groups.
Requirements, Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the purchase of direct and indirect materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the new Condair production site in Richmond, Virginia, United States
Participate in local sourcing projects of the corporate strategic procurement team in the US
Deal with materials purchasing issues with a high level of complexity
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all activities related to purchasing materials
Monitor and report supplier performance, with respect to operational performance
Work in a team environment with manufacturing, production planning, quality, strategic procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and uninterrupted and smooth flow of material
Assist with report preparation, data collection and spreadsheet generation, analyse and proposals for business improvements
Document and notify all concerned parties regarding shortages, delivery and related issues
Timely process of Purchase requisitions, expedite/de-expedite of Purchase orders, monitor on-time deliveries
Adhere to Condair's Quality Assurance System
Strong product knowledge
Aware of and maintaining business revenue targets
Inventory management: calculate Safety Stocks and Reorder points, Improve Inventory Turns, Days Inventory Held Targets by using ABC/ XYZ Techniques
Identification and management of slow moving goods
Set up Kanban system for selected categories of items
Discovery and cost out supply related inefficiencies both internal and external
Understanding of suppliers obligations for contract related goods
Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
- 3+ years purchasing experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with experience in sourcing. Bachelor's degree in a technical or supply chain discipline or equivalent education combined with relevant job experience. Strong technical understanding and interest.
- Excellent verbal, writing and comprehension skills in English.
- Strong planning and organization skills are required. Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritise work, set targets and make decisions. Ability to work accurately and methodically under pressure.
- Knowledge of MRP systems. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP and Acumatica are a plus.
- Creates clarity with open communication. Manages to establish and maintain workable relationships.
- Supports colleagues in achieving goals and promotes cross-functional collaboration.
- Acts in a binding manner and keeps promises and agreements. Completes work reliably and is punctual.
