Our Santa Rosa, CA location has an immediate opening for a talented, motivated, Electrical Engineer focused on supporting low volume production programs in the development, assembly, testing, system integration and troubleshooting of electrical and electro-optical assemblies in an AS9100/ISO9001 environment. This position is an exempt, non-supervisory, fulltime position. Primary Responsibilities: Assemble and test electro-optical and electronics units for production according to designs, specifications and procedures. Detailed PCA diagnosis and repair. Construction, integration, and test of custom cabling harnesses as necessary. Set up test apparatus and conduct testing of electrical, optical and electro-optical production assemblies following established methods, procedures, specifications and standards. Adjust and calibrate systems as needed. Fill out assembly and test documentation. May write and edit procedures. Assist in troubleshooting failures to identify root causes of malfunctions. Implement corrective actions. Monitor and verify quality of assemblies in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Position requires some interaction with suppliers and customers. Support engineering in design and development of documentation. Additional duties as assigned. U.S. Citizenship, background screen and drug test are required to meet position eligibility. Demonstrated skills and abilities: Perform as lab manager to coordinate tool and asset management, organization, lab maintenance, and tool and consumable expiration date management. Use of basic electronics equipment, ex. AC/DC power supplier, digital multi-meter. Use of hand tools/torque tools. Effective professional written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Eagerness to learn. Taking direction, input and feedback from internal customers such as lab managers and program managers. Perform and document routine and preventative maintenance on items such as air compressors, fume hoods, vacuum pumps and other equipment per manufacturer's instructions and schedule. Nice to have: IPC J-STD-001 certification IPC-A-610 Certification Networking fundamentals or network administrator Experience with specialized electrical test equipment, ex. Oscilloscope, signal generator Experience with building encapsulated (potted) assemblies Tasks Performed: Assembly of production hardware 50% Setup test equipment and conduct testing 25% Troubleshooting failures and correcting found issues 10% Engineering Support 15% The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $110,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. Other Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.
