Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. This role involves the design and development of electrical and control systems for our client's equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating electrical drawings, writing programs, and integrating PLC logic with DCS/SCADA systems. Additionally, the role includes the on-boarding and oversight of new Electrical Engineers until they are proficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Electrical Design: Develop electrical drawings and control programming (Siemens required) from P&IDs.
- System Integration: Integrate PLC logic with DCS/SCADA systems effectively.
- Component Sourcing: Identify and source new components and electrical instruments.
- Customer Specifications: Review customer system specifications and incorporate them into design.
- Instrument Selection: Select and evaluate electrical industrial instruments.
- Field Support: Travel for troubleshooting, training, and start-up support as required (average 30-50% travel).
- Budget Management: Work within budget constraints.
- BOM Creation: Create Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement of electrical and control components.
- Outsourcing Coordination: Collaborate with outsourced design or programming teams to create drawings and programs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum 4-year degree in Controls/Electrical Engineering.
- Programming Proficiency: Experience with PLC/HMI programming is required.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with UL and NEC standards.
- Preferred Experience: Knowledge of water treatment equipment and components is preferred.
