Client Details
This role is with a fast-growing company in the sports industry, specifically focused on the golf space located near Hinsdale, IL. The company is a leader in providing customized, high-performance products to athletes and enthusiasts, with locations across the globe. They're known for combining cutting-edge technology with exceptional service, making a significant impact in the golf world. In this position you will be exposed to various areas within the overall Accounting function. You will play a pivotal role in Month End, Invoicing, Expenses, and ad hoc reporting/analysis. This is a highly visible role that will regularly partner with the CFO, Controller, and Assistant Controller
Description
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, assist with balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, ensuring accurate accounting and timely payment processing.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve any issues or discrepancies in their invoices.
- Manage the prepaid expense process, ensuring accurate monthly amortization entries.
- Monitor corporate credit card usage, review available credit, and manage expense reimbursements.
- Oversee the expense reimbursement process, ensuring timely and accurate employee expense report processing on a weekly basis.
- Maintain debt schedules, process debt payments, and track interest payments.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and prepare ad-hoc financial reports for management review.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6+ months of experience working in a Public Accounting setting
- CPA is preferred, not required
- Strong written and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail
