Applicants must possess outstanding interpersonal skills, work well with middle and high school students, and have good oral and written communication skills. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Implement, and evaluate a comprehensive guidance program targeting identified student needs - Assist students in evaluating their abilities and aptitudes through the interpretation of available data, and work with the student and their parents in evolving educational and vocational plans in terms of the evaluation - Conduct individual and group counseling sessions on personal and social problems and educational opportunities - Assist in the preparation and processing of college, scholarship, financial aid, and employment applications and make recommendations for admissions and scholarships - Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance the educational experience for students - Maintain an efficient record-keeping system - Attend Child Study Team, 504, & I&RS meetings - Assemble, maintain, and interpret accurate authorized cumulative permanent records, maintaining the confidentiality of such records - Participate in the organization and administration of the standardized testing program - Perform other duties which may be within the scope of employment and certifications as may be assigned by their supervisor or other member of the administrative staff Applicants must possess: Required: NJ School Counselor Standard Certificate Please submit an application, letter of interest, and resume through the Haddon Heights School District Employment website.
