Outpatient Physical Therapist

The Outpatient Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical injuries and disabilities using various therapy modalities. This role involves developing individualized treatment plans, educating patients and caregivers, and documenting ongoing patient progress. The Physical Therapist promotes health and wellness while helping patients regain mobility and independence.

Scope
- Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Develops plans describing a treatment strategy, its purposes, and its anticipated outcome. Plan often includes exercise regimens at the clinic and at home to increase flexibility, strength, or endurance. May use various modalities to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs. Help to restore physical function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent permanent disability.
- Determines patients ability to be independent and reintegrate into the workplace or community after injury or illness.
- Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school is required
- Current/valid state Physical Therapist licensure is required Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
- One (1) year related experience (preferably in a clinic setting) is required
Preferred
- Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is preferred
- Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is preferred
