Job Opportunities The City of Rahway, Police Department Traffic Bureau is recruiting 1 part-time School Traffic Guard. Duties include a variety of routine, repetitive, noncomplex tasks which involve assisting and protecting children at intersections; notifying proper authorities in cases requiring police action or medical attention; responding to complaints and inquiries from the public; and other job duties outlined in and not limited to the Civil Service Commission title School Traffic Guard ( Job Specification ). Applicants must also maintain and uphold all policies and procedures; represent the City in a professional and courteous manner; maintain a neat and clean appearance; and remain in uniform during scheduled shifts. Qualifications Ability to read and write English Ability to follow directions - both oral and written No convictions of any offense which would make the candidate unfit to perform such duties Ability to work a flexible schedule and in varying weather conditions Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check are performed.
