Fort Wayne, United States Factor AE Full time

INTRODUCTION

We're on the lookout for an entry level (1-3 years experience) software engineer to join our team. In this full-stack development role, you'll work alongside our team in developing mission critical cloud-native software solutions. Developing software in a fast-paced environment, you'll see the results of your work firsthand. If you're a highly motivated software engineer who is excited to make a difference in the architecture and engineering space, check out our job posting

LOCATION

This is a remote capable position but will require regular visits to our office in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

ABOUT FACTOR:

At Factor, we create software solutions that connect people, projects, and invoices for firms in the architecture and engineering (A/E) industry. We are an organization that has experienced significant growth with a strong customer base, but we operate with the tenacity and focus of a startup. We have a casual work environment that emphasizes results over ceremony.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Factor Core development team is responsible for the implementation of new features and functionality, enhancements to existing functionality, and the ongoing modernization and maintenance of the entire Factor Core ecosystem. This is a full stack software engineering position, which will involve modern cloud native development techniques leveraging technologies such as ReactJS, Typescript, Asp.Net Core, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Neo4j, SignalR, and Docker (as the product evolves, so do the tools we leverage… this is just a bit of the tech currently powering our Core ecosystem, we assume the right candidate is going to be interested to know this upfront).

Our teams are small groups that operate at a high level of efficiency. We work closely with the product ownership, sales, marketing, and customer care teams throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle. These partnerships are a key ingredient of our success. Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders and team members is of upmost importance to be successful in this role.

We are looking for a driven individual who is excited to gain knowledge and experience in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING (SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science / software engineering / information systems and 1 year of related professional experience.
  • Experience developing front-end software solutions using languages / frameworks / technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, Node, React, Vue, Angular, etc.
  • Experience or knowledge of developing back-end software solutions using languages / frameworks / technologies such as REST, Asp.Net, SQL Server, Entity Framework, MongoDB, Neo4j, C#, Java, etc.
  • Ability to learn and apply design principles such as SOLID, clean code, and test-driven development.
  • Ability to solve complex technical and business problems and challenges.
  • Ability and motivation to work independently; ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Communication skills: someone who can effectively articulate their thoughts and opinions.
  • Ownership: someone who takes ownership of themself, their assigned work, and the results that follow.
  • Coachable: someone who is willing and excited to be coached.
  • Adaptable: someone who embraces that software is iterative, and that software developers empower product owners to change.
  • Positive mindset and energy: someone who is generally excited that they contribute to our mission by developing software solutions.
  • Professionally Driven: someone who keeps pace with emerging technologies and is always looking to learn and improve.
  • Standards: someone who can maintain professional standards.

BENEFITS

At Factor we offer our team members a competitive salary, generous paid time off, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and retirement savings with matching company contributions. We also pay for parking when you are working in our downtown Fort Wayne office location.

WORK AUTHORIZATION

Factor will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1(including those with OPT or CPT) , H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.
