Rise Modular, LLC is a leading construction technology company that designs, engineers, and manufactures full volumetric modular units for inclusion in multi-family apartment and hospitality development projects. This position is based in our Rise Modular Owatonna, Minnesota location.


Job Description:

The supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day construction of modular units in an indoor, climate-controlled, manufacturing facility while increasing the production levels. The supervisor will communicate with the Plant Manager daily.


Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and supervise production workers of the Finish End or Rough End.
  • Oversee and actively participate in Interviewing, making hiring recommendations, training, and integrating of new team members.
  • Lead employees, set an excellent example, and be willing to work side by side on the production floor doing all phases of the construction process to promote a positive, and effective environment where evident contributions of all team members are visible.
  • Assure that production operations supervised are stated properly according to the specification sheets and blueprints to meet Rise Modular operational excellence.
  • Determine task priorities and revises scheduling or assignment of duties based on labor availability to maintain production at optimum level.
  • Maintain and safeguard area operation within established production and quality standards.
  • Assure that the materials needed for production are available on time and in adequate quantity.
  • Recognize and resolve operating problems promptly to minimize their effect on associate’s safety, production schedules or quality.
  • Oversee maintenance of machinery and equipment used under his/her supervision in good running order and arranges for repairs promptly as needed.
  • Organize the tracking of current and accurate records on production, work performance, and employee attendance.
  • Enforce compliance with safety rules and regulations, direct others in safe and effective use of tools and take prompt corrective actions concerning any potential safety hazards.
  • Adhere and cultivate 5S and lean principles as a direct path in achieving manufacturing excellence.
  • Intently collaborate in the development, revision, and creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor material usage to reduce scrap and improve material usage.
  • Maintains good working knowledge of important provisions of work rules and procedures to assure fair, equitable and consistent treatment of workers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Preferred skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated and verifiable 5+ years of experience in supervisory role.
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Principles specifically 5S.
  • Proven high safety operation commitment. Preferred certification: OSHA 10 – Construction.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
  • Quality driven individual with ability to find an optimum balance between production volume and meeting and/or exceeding established quality standards.
  • Ability to lead and motivate production team members and work collaboratively with all employees.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively lead and train employees.
  • Basic computer skills to communicate and effectively present data such as Microsoft outlook, excel, power point.
  • Previous construction experience.
