As an Inside Sales Representative, your primary responsibility will be to create and maintain strong relationships by supporting our clients with in-depth product knowledge and blue-ribbon support, both pre- and post-sale.


Duties:

  • Discuss customer needs and requirements over the phone as well as via email, and

recommend appropriate solutions based on discussion. Discussions may surround topics

including but not limited to product specifications, equipment environment, power and

cooling requirements, specialty solutions, inventory status, pricing, etc.

  • Navigate our website as well as vendor websites to research and locate products and

solutions. Effectively assist customers with navigating these sites.

  • Research and understand vendor literature. Recognize the ability to offer solutions that

may not be listed on our website, and interface with vendors to gather information on

these solutions.

  • Interface with vendors as necessary to obtain product pricing and availability or

additional technical information.

  • Provide quotations to customers.
  • Assist business development team with quotations and order processing when

necessary.

  • Create sales orders for submission to Customer Service for processing. Review purchase

orders and/or authorize credit card payments for sales orders when applicable.

  • Utilize web-based transportation management system to obtain shipping estimates

when applicable.

  • Follow-up with customers on the statuses of open quotations and log follow-up calls

within CRM.

  • Maintain accurate statuses within CRM on open quotations based on customer

feedback and follow-up efforts.

  • Perform account development activities, including but not limited to reaching out to

existing customers to advise of newly added product lines, promotions, case studies,

and other purposeful communications.

  • Maintain professional and cordial relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with other departments (customer service, warehouse, accounting, etc.) as

needed to best serve our customers.

  • Respond to customer inquiries quickly and appropriately.
  • Other duties/projects as deemed applicable.


Hard Skills:

  • Must be able to understand and follow processes surrounding sales support, quoting,

order processing, and customer support to provide an exemplary customer experience,

both pre- and post-sale.

  • Must possess basic computer literacy, and the ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite

(Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), as well as web-based CRM/order management, payment

processing, and transportation management systems.

  • Must be able to effectively use the internet for research and education.
  • Must be able to compose written communications with appropriate spelling, grammar,

punctuation and formatting.

  • Must be able to understand basic mathematical concepts surrounding discounts and

margins (cost vs. sell price, etc.) with the assistance of a calculator/web-based

calculator.

  • A general knowledge of information technology solutions is a strong preference.
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a preference, but not a requirement.


Soft Skills:

  • Must possess superior active listening skills.
  • Must possess intrapersonal skills allowing for professional and productive conversation

with customers, vendors, and co-workers via phone, email, and in person.

  • Must possess the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Must be detail-oriented and quick to notice discrepancies and inconsistencies.

  • Must maintain a pleasant demeanor and a positive attitude when dealing with

customers.
