Join Marymount UniversityIt's a great time to join Marymount University We are looking for faculty and staff who are passionate about providing excellent service to ensure a high quality student experience and collaborative working environment.Major Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans and daily classroom activities that are developmentally appropriate for preschool-aged childrenMaintain a well-kept, healthy and safe classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidenceFoster a positive, organized and healthy learning environmentSupervise children during play and learning activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all timesAssist with daily classroom routines, including meal and nap times, and help maintain an organized classroom environment.Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding their child's progress and developmentCollaborate with the Lead Teacher and other team members to create a positive and supportive learning environmentAttend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other training opportunities as requiredFollow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all children in the classroomAttend continuing training/education classes designed to broaden professionalism, knowledge, and skills involving early childhood development as required by Federal and State regulations and the administrationEnsure that all children are treated with respect, dignity, and kindnessRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or childcare setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young childrenStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.CertificationsInfant/child CPR and First Aid certificationBackground checkDocumentation of negative TB screening/testPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and move around for long hours at a time while teachMust be able to lift up to 25 poundsMust be able to bend, squat, and kneel as neededMarymount University is an equal opportunity employer.
