Pieper Houston Electric is seeking Electrical Service Technicians to join our team. Journeyman Service Technicians are responsible for installing and completing high-quality electrical field work and taking measures to increase the companys effectiveness and efficiency. We are looking for positive, energetic leaders who excel in working in a collaborative fast-paced environment. An ideal candidate should have a business growth mindset, superb interpersonal skills, and can manage service meeting customer needs and expectations. Job responsibilities: Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning electrical apparatus and components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, motors, generators, and fixtures. Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job. Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduits. Check circuit connections to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components. Estimate the general amount of time and material to complete service tasks. Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently. Understand and demonstrate use of the principles of basic electricity and electronics. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements. Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition; report any issues to immediate supervisor. Engage with customer/client to inform them of issues, solutions, and outcomes; recommend products and services for optimal system performance. Treat clients with the highest degree of respect and work to develop a partnership environment. Requirements: 3 years in commercial electrical on-demand/service, maintenance and/or troubleshooting and field repair of electrical systems. Demonstrate an understanding of the Electrical Code and NFPA 70-E. Valid drivers license with satisfactory driving record. Journeyman Electrician license required. Valid state electrical journeyman and/or master license. Pass a background check, drug screen, and DMV check. Availability to work on-call and overtime hours as needed. Basic hand tools needed to perform general repair work. Familiar with and can use smartphones and tablets. Efficient with time and materials while ensuring top quality electrical installations. Responsible for operating a company vehicle appropriately. Excellent verbal and written communication. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills. Environmental / Working Conditions: Local travel; frequently up to 100% of the time. Frequently works from electronic devices and/or computers. Acclimated to working outdoors in hot or cold weather. Completing electrical tasks in single or multi-story structures at various elevations. Exposure to working on flat and steep pitched roofs at high elevations. May work in trenches up to 15 deep and other confined spaces. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead. Constantly moving on your feet. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions including jobsite directions, maps, and instructional manuals. Ability to follow verbal instructions. Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to analyze electrical problems and propose beneficial solutions. Ability to accept and facilitate change, answer questions tactfully. Willing to adhere to deadlines and complete tasks on schedule. Self-starter, motivated, and high performer. Ability to establish and maintain safe effective working relationships. Team-oriented, must be able to work with a team to complete projects.
