Front of House Expeditor

The Expeditor positions primary responsibility is to assist the culinary team and front of house team to expedite the food orders. This candidate must be highly motivated energetic and possess great communication skills.  

Job responsibilities include although are not limited to: 

  • Display a congenial appearance and is well groomed at all times. 

  • Ability to handle a fastpaced work environment and detailoriented qualities are necessary.   

  • Ensure all setups are ready for service according to standards.  

  • Assist service to colleagues in completing preshift duties; including polishing all serving trays setup of the pass area for dinner service polish buckets and additional side duties as outlined in the preshift duties list.  

  • Assist staff in delivering a flawless dining experience consistently providing exceptional food superlative service elegant decor and exquisite presentations. 

  • It is the expeditors duties to collect and efficiently put out food orders for all outlets including but not limited to Amaya In Room Dining Pools Lobby Lounge   

  • The Expeditor is responsible for communication through the kitchen to the Front of House staff and vice versa.  

  • Their main job responsibilities are to expedite the completed dishes to the service area and when needed service the tables as well.    

  • Assist service colleagues in breakdown and cleanup of service areas i.e. all coffee and espresso service replaced and cleaned all pass items placed in storage areas service trays cleaned and stored pass area neat and tidy for next days service.

  • Prior experience in a similar restaurant environment preferred. 

  • Food Handlers Card required. 

  • High School graduate 

  • Must be able to speak read write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. 

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.    

  • Requires good communication skills both verbal and written     

  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions. 

  • Knowledge of Restaurant operations its services and facilities.  

  • Must have superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors.  Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by Restaurant environmental systems. 

  • Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert wellpaced mobility for up to 6 hours in length.  Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.  

  • Must be able to exert wellpaced ability to multitask in a calm manner on a timely basis. 

  • Must be able to exert wellpaced ability in limited space.  

  • Must be able to bend stoop squat and stretch to fulfill daily tasks. 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. 

  • Requires grasping writing standing walking repetitive motions bending listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. 

Grooming: 

All Colleagues must maintain a neat clean and wellgroomed appearance per Fairmont Grand Del Mar standards. A conservative simple and elegant style is preferred.
