Our Waukesha based client, a provider in custom computing solutions for medical, industrial, and defense industries, is seeking to add a Supply Chain Analyst to their Waukesha, WI location. This role will be responsible for the preproduction process and sourcing, initial supplier contact, and negotiation for procurement of raw materials for production operations. Based in Waukesha, WI this role operates during 1st shift hours Monday-Friday, working Hybrid with minimal in office requirements.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of the pre-production process in collaboration with other internal stakeholders, managing new designs or design changes from initial concept to production. Learn the responsibilities of the master planner and serve as their backup when needed.
  • Understand all market aspects of assigned products/suppliers; recognized as a global industry expert within custom computer company.
  • Drive the adoption of commodity and supply chain strategies into product pre-production and manufacturing objectives.
  • Develop cost models and understand cost drivers, recognized expert for global market information.
  • Analyze long-term supply/demand/capacity, price, market segments, global/domestic market dynamics, and short-term and long-term trends.
  • Lead the development and execution of long-term supply chain strategies, leveraging strong technical/market expertise to deliver competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the supply base as it aligns with company demand over the next 3+ years.
  • Identify gaps between company direction and industry trends, providing recommendations to address these gaps.
  • Develop sourcing plans reflective of portfolio management, including long-term agreements and strategic sourcing relationships.
  • Include contingency plans and risk analysis in supply chain strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for product standardization, develop business cases, and drive strategies cross-functionally throughout the business.
  • Develop global supplier/buyer contractual relationships and negotiation strategies, driving negotiations to achieve objectives.
  • Document negotiation and contracting processes aligned with commodity strategy and communicate contract data and volume across functional teams and supply base.
  • Leverage supplier capabilities and business opportunities domestically and internationally.
  • Drive supplier selection, development, and management with technology partners in accordance with commodity strategy.
  • Develop performance criteria and award/remove business based on results; work with suppliers to improve all areas measured by the supplier scorecard.
  • Conduct supply chain consolidation analysis, planning, and implementation to generate material cost productivity improvements and meet quarterly targets.
  • Collaborate with sales and project management to improve forecast accuracy to suppliers.
  • Maximize supplier value by understanding their strategy and marketing efforts, incorporating information into new product designs.
  • Train and educate account executives and product management teams in supplier marketing and strategy to drive sales.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3-5+ years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, either internally or within supplier organizations.
  • Experience utilizing Syteline or any ERP system.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to partner with department managers to identify, create, and plan capabilities necessary to meet short and long-term business needs.
  • Cross-functional project management, data analysis and problem solving, team management, and the ability to work independently at a high energy level.

Preferred:

  • Sourcing experience in the Global procurement of electronics components.
  • Sourcing experience in a low volume, high mix environment.
  • Knowledge of international business transactions, i.e., tariff codes, Incoterms, export license requirements, and intermodal transportation.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting.
