We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workforce, reflecting the communities we serve.If you are ready to make a difference as part of the world's greatest sports team, apply to join our team todayOverview: This Senior Manager, Analytics Inventory role sits at the intersection of merchandising, supply chain, store operations, and technology, and is critical to leveraging data to drive insights and AI applications to fuel our differentiated assortment, pricing & promotion strategies, merchant planning, and supply chain optimization.Job Purpose: As the Senior Manager, Analytics Inventory, you will:Work with merchant and supply chain partners, data evangelists and technologists to ensure that we offer the best, most relevant product to our customers when and where they want it via data-informed, analytical insights and data-fueled applications (AI).Own the data, insights and measurement strategy for Inventory end-to-end, acting as the connector and strategic guide for business and analytical leaders across domains and initiatives.Be the go-to for data and analytics in the inventory space, partnering with data leaders and business stakeholders to define measurement strategy and metric definitions, inform data model requirements, and define how we leverage AI to optimize our inventory landscape.Manage a complex matrixed team to deliver impactful, outcome-oriented insights that drive both strategy and measurement in the inventory space.Demonstrate a keen ability to guide strategy and act as a data-led advisor to diverse stakeholders, always thinking end to end and omni-channel, serving as a visionary in the analytics space.Be a strategic, action-oriented leader responsible for establishing a high-performing Inventory/Supply Chain analytics function.Be an infectiously curious leader with an extensive background in data analysis, capable of steering the strategic direction of our data initiatives with stakeholders while also partnering closely with your team to build our data and analytics foundations.Responsibilities: The Sr. Manager, Analytics sets goals, priorities and processes related to Analytics as a function and in support of covered domains (across Merchandising & Inventory teams) while overseeing multiple initiatives, flexing priorities as business needs shift and serving as a point of escalation.Business Stakeholder & Strategy Support:Serve as a strategic advisor to business stakeholders, including executive levels.Help guide and shape strategic business decisions based on data, acting as the translator between data and deep insights from which to drive strategy.Support will include proactive discovery and goal setting, reactive root cause analysis or measurement, and ad hoc support for trend and metric interpretation / definition.As the data expert in the inventory space, this role will partner with Data Engineering teams to design scalable data pipelines and data warehousing solutions, inform data model requirements, and prototype and strategize needed reporting elements.Analytics & Measurement:Lead the analytics support for business partners through development of executive-facing deliverables, with succinct storylines and project plans, demonstrating mastery of written and verbal communicationWork with business leaders to develop actionable insights and to translate analytics into meaningful business strategies through storytellingManage an ongoing testing portfolio and prioritization for the domain, presenting key findings, testing summary and communication of the testing portfolio to key executivesTest both business strategies and technology improvements to ensure positive business results, guiding cross-functional teams in robust test measurement approachesAnalyze and communicate test results cross-functionally and to leadership to guide investments decisionsPioneer new data sets and concepts and drive the creation of common metrics with goals and benchmarks for application, further partnering with technology, stakeholders and reporting teams to drive data democratization and usage of metrics across the enterprise to leverage for effective performance trackingDemonstrate ownership and leadership by personally carrying out advanced data analysis to discover and communicate actionable insightsLeverage common tools and platforms (e.g. SQL, Databricks, GCP, Excel), and/or vendor platforms to query, join, extract, and manipulate raw data from disparate sources to tell a comprehensive story with key insights and recommended actions.Partner with Technology and Data Science teams to develop/manage various models (pricing and promotions econometric models; supply chain and store level allocation optimization) and apply measurement where testing environments are more obscureTeam Leadership & Development:Manage a team of analysts, placing each teammate in the best position for them individually, and the team as a whole, to maximize value for the team and organization.Identify teammate strengths and opportunities, providing open and honest feedback on a regular basis, in order to elevate individuals.Develop and coordinate the growth of specialized skills such as analytics, testing, and technological implementation to enable the team to successfully achieve goals.As needed, develop business cases to secure additional resources to meet capacity.Industry Knowledge & Benchmarking:May serve as the primary vendor relationship manager for analytical toolsets.Benchmark DICK'S against best-in-class analytics organization to identify strengths and opportunities for DICK'S, keeping up-to-date on current trends in the industry.Preferred Qualifications:Education: Master's degree preferredCoding Languages: advanced in SQL, advanced in R and/or PythonBusiness Intelligence: experience with BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI)Data Platforms: experience in Databricks, GCP or Azure ExperienceTesting Tools: advanced knowledge of test design, analysis, and best practices. Experience with A/B testing software preferred (APT/MarketDial, etc.).Analytical Skills: experience with data model development/design, regression analysis, forecasting and simulationsCommunication Skills: mastery of written and verbal communication, including Power Point creation, storytelling, and visualExperience: 10-15 years of experience, including 5-7 years of Merchant Analytics with experience in Inventory Optimization, Merchandising and Supply Chain experienceRetail (or B2C) strongly preferredAdvanced knowledge of merchant operations and merchant analyticsPrior analytics roles strongly preferred, with robust personal experience leveraging data to drive insights, developing statistical / predictive models and inform strategyDemonstrated experience developing, deploying and/or applying:Measurement best practices for model validation and A/B testing, along with other proven analytical frameworks (such as Diff-in-Diff)Business cases and conducting opportunity sizingRobust business performance reporting and informing data and reporting requirementsEconometric modelingSegmentation, clusters, and models (pricing / promotions; forecasting)Experience in critical thinking within the Merchant Operations space, yielding credibility in analytical and measurement recommendationsAbility to translate customer experience and merchandising needs into inputs to leverage AI to build, test and scale machine learning modelsQualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent levelEconomics, Statistics, Data Science, Liberal Arts or Related FieldGeneral Experience: 10-15 years of experienceSQL, R, Python, experience with BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI)Testing and Optimization ToolsGCP or Azure ExperienceManagerial Experience: 3-5 years of managerial experienceVirtual Requirements:Cameras must be on during all virtual interviews.AI tools are not permitted to be used by the candidate during any part of the interview process.Offers are contingent upon a satisfactory background check which may include ID verification.Targeted Pay Range: $95,200.00 - $158,800.00.
