Comforts of Home, White Pine and Gracewood Senior Living POSITION TITLE: Accounts Payable Specialist REPORTS TO: Business Manager and President Hours: 32 hours per week (Flexible) Hourly Pay: $23.00-$25.00 DOQ Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing support for the accounts payable function, ensuring all payments due to others are processed in a timely fashion. This role also performs reconciliation activities and provides back up support to a variety of roles in the main office. Primary Duties: Accounting Responsibilities: • Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and approval prior to payment. • Verify and reconcile invoices. • Investigate and resolve issues or discrepancies, to include contacting whoever is responsible for approving the invoice. • Process checks for distribution to vendors. • Prepare batch check runs and print checks. • Investigate and resolve invoicing issues such as incorrect billing and duplications. • Research and resolve internal and external inquiries concerning vendor account status, including communicating the resolution. • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, including filing of all paid invoices. • Prepare and submit weekly positive pay submissions to various banks. Other Responsibilities: • Provide backup support to the phones, payroll and accounts receivable, as needed. • Generate various reports for internal and external customers, as needed, including providing financial reports to lenders. • Respond to all vendor inquires. • Perform other duties and assist with other company department projects, as requested. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent • 2-4 years accounting or related bookkeeping experience • Ability to work independently • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) • Proficient in QuickBooks • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail • Strong verbal and written communication ability • Basic understanding of financial P&L and balance sheets #sj
