Our client, a Menlo Park based VC and growth equity firm is looking for an Compliance Assistant to join their team on a three month contract basis. This is a hybrid role 3 days in office, 2 remote. In this role you will be reporting on portfolio company legal entity structures and performing reconciliations of database entries. An ideal candidate will have skills in Excel, attention to detail, and be an excellent communicator both verbal and written. They will also have familiarity with legal documentation, contracts, and company charters.


*Please note this is a three month contract role, pay will be $35-50/HR*


Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and update legal entity information in various databases to reflect changes stemming from equity investments
  • Conduct outreach and communication with portfolio companies concerning legal entity structures and requisite reporting
  • Perform reconciliations of database entries to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor and track portfolio company filings, including but not limited to those linked to the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA)
  • Coordinate scheduling of meetings for the legal and compliance teams on matters related to this project
  • Contribute to the updating and refining of compliance policies and procedures



Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative or company secretary role within a legal or compliance setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and database management
  • Demonstrable capability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks independently
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
