For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.

JOB SUMMARY
The RN Clinical Services Lead is part of the leadership team and recognized as a clinical expert in one or more functional areas, providing leadership, knowledge, experience and research expertise to the team.

This position leads or directs the work to ensure the overall movement of patients throughout the unit is managed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures. This position also facilitates solutions for challenging patient care situations and collaborates with the unit manager and educator to monitor and maintain staff performance and outcomes.

In addition, this position supports team members in alignment with HHC's vision, core values and leadership behaviors.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Nursing; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
Two (2) years of acute care nursing experience required
One (1) year of acute care charge or preceptor experience required
Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and BLS are required
Other certifications may be required in specific specialties

* Considerable knowledge of requirements by federal, state or regulatory bodies.

* Knowledge of all relevant policies and procedures.

* Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to lifelong learning as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

* Must be able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

* Demonstrates effective leadership through collaborative partnerships in accordance with Nursing Professional Practice model.

* Strong ability to problem solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment and in emergency situations.

* Ability to hold colleague(s) accountable and manage change and conflict.

* Strong ability to foster an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and maximized to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.

* Strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
