Director Of PurchasingDavid Weekley Homes is seeking a Director of Purchasing to lead and manage the Charlotte Division Purchasing Team to ensure cost-effective resources are available to build homes on schedule and with high quality. This is accomplished by collaborating with the regional and national purchasing teams, managing the design center, working with divisional management and owning financial reporting tied to hard costs.Job Responsibilities:Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and develop purchasing and design center team members; lead orientations and growth opportunities.Cost Management: Oversee hard cost budgets, bidding, and feasibility studies; drive cost-saving strategies and product/option offerings.Quality & Operations: Select and manage preferred partners; align with regional objectives; support operations teams with field visits and scope updates.Capacity Planning: Manage labor and material availability; build strong preferred partner relationships; support new community start-up and sourcing efforts.Design Center Oversight: Lead design center team; maintain product offerings and communicate with purchasing.Financial Oversight: Track lot and community costs, soft costs, accruals, and forecasts; report to regional purchasing team.Qualifications:Strong communicator and team leader with a friendly, engaging styleHighly organized, able to manage multiple projects and document requirementsSkilled negotiator focused on cost-effective products and servicesAccountable, process-driven, and goal-oriented with a big-picture mindsetMotivated to exceed expectations and meet deadlinesExperience in purchasing or supply chain preferredBachelor's degree in business, supply chain, construction management, civil engineering, or related fieldProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteWhat We Offer:Come build your future with our winning team, recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" 19 times David Weekley Homes builds in 19 markets across the U.S. and is one of the largest private home builders in America.
