Polymer Application Technologist

The main responsibility of the position is to setup, operate, and troubleshoot polymer process equipment in support of product development, application development, and technical service.


Job Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment including extruder, compounder, injection molding machine, roll mill, hot press, etc.
  • Propose and/or implement equipment modifications based on type of polymer material used
  • Prepare testing specimen with appropriate methods and equipment
  • Conduct lab tests on a wide range of samples utilizing a variety of methods
  • Report testing data to senior scientists and engineers
  • Keep lab procedures up to date, write new procedures as required
  • Maintain housekeeping of application workshop


Qualifications

  • High School diploma with 8 years of experience in thermoplastic polymer processing
  • BS degree in Polymer Science or related field with 3 years of experience in thermoplastic polymer processing
  • Good mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred
  • Ability to set goals and identify the processes necessary to accomplish them
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions and safety procedures
  • Good communications skills including the ability to clearly communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and the ability to learn advanced software


This is a Direct Hire position with a Monday-Friday day shift work schedule. Salary is commensurate upon level of education and applicable experience. If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for immediate consideration.
