It powers cloud administration and serves as the primary gateway into the Snowflake platformresponsible for managing core entities that govern how customers operate within the system.As more customers adopt multi-region and multi-cloud strategies, the complexity of modeling organizational hierarchiessuch as accounts, users, access policies, and metadatagrows. These constructs must work reliably and consistently across cloud providers and geographies.As a Principal Software Engineer, youll play a critical role in designing and delivering foundational systems that scale with our customers and their data.Join us and help shape the future of the AI Data Cloud.As a Principal Software Engineer in Manageability, You Will:Drive impactful initiatives for the globally distributed infrastructureInnovate and build large scale high reliability systems to manage the control and data plane of account and organization management.Architect for infrastructure to survive system outages, and provide a framework for handling critical systems.Collaborate with product managers, architects, other engineering teams, data scientists, and business groups, to drive end-to-end solutionsEnsure operational readiness of the services and meet the commitments to our customers regarding reliability, availability, and performance.Our Ideal Principal Software Engineer - Manageability Will Have:12+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale systems in production.Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.Sharp original thinking to make the right choices and guide teamsSystems programming skills including multi-threading, concurrency, caching, etc. Fluency in Java or other similar procedural object-oriented language is preferred.Track record of identifying and implementing creative solutions to complex problems.Knowledge of database internals is a big plus.Ability to work effectively across engineering teams in multiple locationsBS in Computer Science; Masters or PhD Preferred.Every Snowflake employee is expected to follow the companys confidentiality and security standards for handling sensitive data.
