Position Title: Technical Designer
Reports to: Sr Technical Designer
Classification: Exempt
Position Description
As a member of the Product Design team, this person has multiple responsibilities that relate to developing new product. This position has 0-2 years of design experience and is developing product at a mid-level, which means they are fully functional and have the ability to manage medium to lower tier accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the design of products which includes assigning item #’s, creating technical patterns, specification sheets, product lifecycle management (PLM) data entry, sewing instructions, and quality control documentation.
- Use independent judgement to make design decisions about the aesthetic, cost, and production scalability of the products.
- Coordinate production of a sample product once it is designed utilizing Easy Way Products formalized process.
- Review sample for internal approval once items are put through production before sending to the customer.
- Facilitate the item approval process with the customer from start to finish which includes making sure spec tabs are filled out correctly, PLM data is uploaded, fabric letter designations are assigned, exception lists are filled out, etc.
- Organize and manage fabric assortments through maintaining a fabric library, designating fabric treatments for customers, and handling customer’s own merchandise fabric orders.
- Act as a customer facing representative of Easy Way Products to local clients.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Achievement of personal annual objectives.
Organizational Alignment
- Reports to the Sr Technical Designer.
- Key link between sales and the customer.
- Cross functional collaboration with colleagues in manufacturing, supply chain, customer service.
Competencies
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communications (written and verbal) skills; able to interact with internal and external clients.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution (preferably design related field), or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience using CAD software in a professional work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) experience preferred, but not required.
