Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years of ICU experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with vented ICU patients Job Description: - Work in a 225-bed specialty care hospital that offers a range of services, including Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics. - Be a part of the region's premier imaging, surgery, and laboratory services. - Provide care in a Level 2 ICU with Open Heart program, Cath lab, Neuro Surgery, Level II Trauma center, and CRRT programs. - Manage a unit with 24 beds, maintaining patient ratios of 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for IMCU. - Utilize equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, vents, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen. - Work with an electronic health record system (EHR) using Cerner. - Care for a patient population including adults and pediatrics, with common diagnoses such as post-open heart, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU cases, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, and septic shock. - Must be willing to float within the unit on a rotation with other travel nurses. - Adhere to the dress code of Galaxy, Royal, or navy blue scrubs, with no hoodies or open-toed shoes. Additional Notes: - The facility offers opportunities in a dynamic environment, ideal for those with a positive team player attitude. - Preferred experience includes CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, and pediatric DKA. - Weekend hours are scheduled every other week, with no scheduled on-call but potential calls if census drops in the unit.
