Job Summary:
The CU College of Nursing is seeking a full-time faculty member and energetic leader to serve as the Integrated Nursing Pathway (INP) Coordinator, an Administrative Faculty Appointment. The ideal candidate would be qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Instructional Faculty Series (open rank: Instructor, Sr. Instructor, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, and Teaching Professor) with dedicated time to serve as the INP Coordinator.
The College of Nursing‘s INP Pathway is a collaboration between CU Nursing and select community colleges that provides a unique pathway for students to earn a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in nursing. The INP Coordinator must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado. The ideal candidate will have teaching and scholarship experience with the ability to teach across programs. This individual will also hold a faculty appointment of either Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor within the Instructional Track and would have dedicated time to serve as the INP Coordinator. Faculty rank will depend on the candidate‘s qualifications and experience. A successful candidate will help foster a community of belonging, and will utilize a justice lens to effectively engage with all members of the CU Nursing community, specifically faculty, staff, students, and community partners with diverse identities.
The INP Coordinator will report to the Assistant Dean for the Undergraduate Programs. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with the Assistant Dean for the Undergraduate Programs, the Associate Dean of Academic Programs, the Office for Faculty and Students (OFS), the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs, the Office of Academic Programs (OAP), and the Lead Specialty Advisor to assure a high-quality, seamless curriculum, positive student outcomes, and strong student satisfaction with learning. Coordinator responsibilities are achieved through effective utilization of resources, encompassing a focused approach to the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the INP components and processes by using best practices, quality improvement concepts and strategies in collaboration with community college partners.
The INP Coordinator serves as dual academic advisor at the community college and CU Nursing to support student needs (appropriate referrals for student support, enrichment, counseling, tutoring, etc.) and functions as a point of contact when situations require escalation. The INP Coordinator addresses student concerns and works collaboratively with course faculty and the Lead Specialty Advisor on an as needed basis. The Lead Specialty Advisor assists students with Individual Program Plans (IPPs) to ensure appropriate student progression and success, ensuring the INP coordinator is kept apprised of the student‘s program plan. The INP Coordinator will collaborate on course failures and IPPs as needed.
Successful candidates will have a track record of excellence in academic teaching. Responsibilities may include participation in the teaching, practice, and service mission of the College of Nursing and the University of Colorado. Demonstration of academic leadership such as curricular/program development is preferred. For APRN candidates, a portion of the position may be devoted to clinical practice depending on the candidate‘s experience and expertise. While the primary focus for this position resides in the teaching mission of the College, service and scholarship to the University and the College are an expectation of all faculty members.
This position may involve didactic and teaching responsibilities. Didactic courses are taught in the classroom, online, or in blended formats. Supervision of clinical courses includes clinical conferences using online conferencing, site visits, and close communication with clinical preceptors.
Examples of Work Performed may include:
- Student Coordination:
- Actively involved in recruitment efforts, reviews applications, interviews applicants (when applicable), participates in orientation, and makes recommendations for admission of qualified applicants in collaboration with Office of Student Affairs
- Ensures high quality, highly satisfactory, and student-focused educational experiences.
- Facilitates student cohort cohesion, professional development, engagement with Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) students, and integration into the culture of CU Nursing.
- Provides advising and refers students to AMC campus resources as needed.
- Faculty and Curricular Coodination
- Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Program to identify programmatic needs and other resources needed to deliver curriculum and enhance student success.
- Coordinates with CU Nursing faculty, OAP, the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs, and ELT to develop INP Pathway didactic schedule.
- Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Program to develop benchmarks for programmatic evaluation. Monitors quality improvement metrics, including the reporting and monitoring of NCLEX pass rates.
- Coordinates/consults with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Program and CU Nursing administration regarding any overarching challenges with students, facility, academic program and clinical placements.
- INP Coordination
- Participates, mentors, and collaborates with other community college partners in the development, teaching, evaluation, and revision of the course ‘Pathway to Professional Nursing‘ including course outlines, curriculum content and delivery.
- Provides ongoing consultation to community partners regarding CU Nursing procedures and policies.
- Disseminates INP information to the community at large with a goal of increasing applicant numbers. Serves as a liaison between INP community partners, potential applicants, and CU Nursing.
- Coordinates and collaborates with community college partners on the INP Partners committee to guide decision-making. The scope of the INP Partners Committee includes providing recommendations for the development of short- and long-term goals, existing or future curriculum content, public relations or marketing initiatives, and policy and procedures.
- Assists new community college partners as they enter an MOU with CU Nursing related to the development of the INP components. This includes creation of information sessions set up and design of course, ‘Pathway to Professional Nursing‘ development of processes for admission and student selection into program, forms and development of policies needed for program structure.
- Participates and collaborates on the development and implementation of an evaluation plan and processes to monitor diversity and student success rates.
- Collaborate with relevant faculty, staff, leadership, and community partners to communicate timely and accurate information on student progression and to facilitate the consistent implementation of established policies and procedures.
- Participates in the admission, student selection process and decisions with designated representatives of community college and CU Nursing according to established admission criteria.
- Participates and coordinates INP student orientation and information sessions prior to transition to CU Nursing.
- Identifies barriers to retention and collaborate with INP partners on strategies to improve INP student retention.
- Provides oversight, collaboration, and direction to community college partners for establishing student advising sessions to meet the unique needs of INP students. Topics may include professional role behaviors, improving academic writing skills, establishing effective study habits and career options.
- Facilitates and coaches‘ community college partners with the monitoring of academic progression by identifying current or potential needs/problems and offering recommendations for addressing issues proactively.
- Instructional Faculty
- Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education, conferences, and seminars. Maintains/updates mandatory education.
- Provide education through learner centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of patients and meet workforce demands of the marketplace.
- Encourage a culture of belonging, grounding learning in mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity and ethics, as well as personal and professional development

- Evaluate student application of knowledge.
- Demonstrate basic skills in operating the educational technology tools.
- Promote accountability among students by implementing clear guidelines and expectations for preparation, engagement, and self-directed study/practice.
- Serve on divisional, college, and university committees;
- Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative inter-professional teaching and scholarship.

- A record of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Instructor in the Instructional Series: Instructor Track.
- Eligible to obtain an unencumbered nursing license in Colorado;
Senior Instructor (Instructional Series: Instructor Track):
- A master‘s degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience mentoring undergraduate students and faculty, ideally in nursing.

- A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or an earned doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, social science, education, or related area;
- A record of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in the Instructional Series: Teaching Professor Track.
- Eligible to obtain an unencumbered nursing license in Colorado.
Associate Teaching Professor:
- A master‘s degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience mentoring undergraduate students and faculty, ideally in nursing.
- Experience mentoring, guiding, coordinating, and evaluating undergraduate nursing curriculum.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Instructor: $86,500 to $96,700 annually at 1.0 FTE
Senior Instructor: $90,800 to $96,200 annually at 1.0 FTE
Assistant Teaching Professor: $95,000 to $115,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
Associate Teaching Professor: $115,000 to $125,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
Teaching Professor: $130,000 to $155,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
