We are seeking a skilled Capital Finance Accountant to join our team on-site in Hopewell, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to budgets. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly in the construction industry. Responsibilities:

  • Generate, update, and maintain reports on expenditure and financial transactions.
  • Keep records of project expenses, contracts, and other accounting data.
  • Review and grant funds for various projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Understand project requirements and create budgets and financial reports accordingly.
  • Analyze and approve vendor invoices and contracts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project terms.
  • Oversee the transfer of funds to various vendors and suppliers, maintaining proper documentation.
  • Assist in creating project-related documents and bills as needed.
  • Close completed project accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct project budget forecasting to anticipate future financial needs and challenges.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the financial sector, particularly in construction accounting.



Requirements:

  • College degree or professional certificate in accounting/finance, or an equivalent subject preferred.
  • Experience in the accounting field as a Capital Project Accountant, with a preference for construction experience.
  • Complete knowledge of accounting software, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated individual with a passion for financial management.
  • Additional skills in forecasting, invoicing, and other aspects of accounting are a plus.
