Carpenter Associate Opportunity Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Carpenter Associate, who is responsible for using carpentry skills to build, from scratch, pallets, crates, boxes, and specialty packaging required to house parts for customer orders.

Job Duties:

  • Build packaging such as pallets, crates, and boxes.
  • Be knowledgeable about different types of wood.
  • Able to read simple schematics, drawings, and plans for building crates and boxes.
  • Use hand and power tools, joinery, and drilling proficiently.
  • Retrieves parts from storage space as directed by pick ticket by reaching and lifting, climbing a ladder and carrying down, or using a forklift.
  • Visually identifies part numbers on parts and compares them to pick tickets for accuracy.
  • Unloads incoming trucks, staging parts' crates, or boxes in appropriate staging areas for receiving.
  • Makes appropriate notations on paperwork to indicate accuracy (inaccuracy) of incoming shipment and stages incoming parts in an area for eventual storage.
  • Uses a computer to look up permanent storage location for specific parts.
  • Performs cycle counts or periodic inventories by counting parts in a specific location and comparing the count to the count on record.
  • Maintains the work area up to standards, putting packing materials in appropriate places for recycling or disposal and parts crates in the staging area for return and reuse.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6+ months of equivalent combination education, training, and experience.
  • Must be forklift certified or able to become certified with training within 30 days of employment.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse procedures/practices and UPS WorldShip.
  • Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
